PH CONSUL GENERAL PURSUES EDUCATION COOPERATION WITH UNIVERSITY OF REGINA

Calgary, 12 April 2022 – Upon the invitation of the University of Regina (UR) in Saskatchewan, Consul General Zaldy Patron made an official visit to UR on 7 April 2022 to explore and pursue education cooperation between the Philippines and the university.
Consul General Patron met with various UR officials led by Dr. Jeff Keshen, UR President and Vice-Chancellor.
Consul General Patron shared with UR officials the initiatives that the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary has undertaken to promote education cooperation between the Philippines and Alberta and Saskatchewan since 2018.
They then discussed the potential areas of cooperation between the Philippines and UR, which include nursing and clean energy.
Likewise, UR officials sought Consul General Patron’s advice regarding its plan to send delegations to the Philippines this year to forge partnerships with Philippine higher education institutions. END.
