Waiver of Exclusion Ground


Under Section 29 (a) 12 of the Philippine Immigration Act, non-Filipino minors below fifteen (15) years of age, who are traveling unaccompanied and are not joining a parent in the Philippines, are required to apply for a WAIVER of EXCLUSION GROUND (WEG) at the Philippine Consulate General in order to be admitted entry in the Philippines regardless of whether or not the said minor requires a visa.

The WEG is a formal permission of at least one (1) of the parents of the child(ren) to travel to the Philippines. The WEG is a requirement of the immigration authorities of the Philippines.

Applications for the WAIVER of EXCLUSION GROUND (WEG) are approved and processed by the Bureau of Immigration at the port of entry, upon submission of the following requirements:

  1. Submission of Affidavit of Request and Consent for WEG by either parent or legally appointed guardian of the child, naming the person who will be accompanying the child to the Philippines and with whom the child will reside while in the Philippines, and

    a. Clear photocopy of the data page of the child’s passport.

    b. Clear photocopy of the data page of the passport of the accompanying adult or guardian.

    c. Other supporting documents may be required.

  2. Payment of notarization fee of CAD$ 36.25 at the Philippine Consulate General for the Affidavit of Request and Consent for WEG
  3. Payment Option: Payments should be made in Canadian Dollars either in cash, bank draft, postal money order, debit card, or credit card (with 2.4% convenience fee applied for credit card only). Personal cheques are NOT accepted.
  4. Payment of the WEG processing fees at the Bureau of Immigration upon arrival at the port of entry of the minor child/children (per minor child):

WEG Fees: Application fee of Php 2,000.00

WEG fee of Php 600.00

Service Fee of Php 500.00
