Calgary, 1 May 2023 – Philippine Consul General Zaldy Patron hosted Filipino Maestro Jonathan Velasco to dinner yesterday, 30 April 2023, at La Ronde Restaurant in Edmonton, Alberta, to show support for his upcoming concert in Edmonton.

 

Maestro Velasco, who is based in Manila, is the guest conductor of Pro Coro Canada, one of the top professional choirs in Canada, for its Missae IX Concert to be held on 6 May 2023, 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., at All Saints' Anglican Cathedral (10035 103 Street Northwest Edmonton, AB, T5J 0X5).

 Maestro Velasco has arrived in Edmonton to do the rehearsals for the concert.

 

At the Missae IX Concert, Edmonton-based Pro Coro Canada will perform MISA (Mass), a composition of National Artist Ryan Cayabyab under the direction of Maestro Velasco.

 

Aside from National Artist Cayabyab and Maestro Velasco, Missae IX will also serve as the world premier for Missa Brevis in E-Flat, a composition of Calgary-based Filipino Canadian Oliver Munar, who is also a member of Pro Coro Canada.
