28 September 2021, Calgary – The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary recently held two consular outreach missions in the cities of Grand Prairie and Fort McMurray in the Province of Alberta, Canada.
A PCG team led by Vice Consul LV de Guzman held the consular outreach in Grand Prairie on 14-16 September 2021 while Consul General Zaldy Patron led another team in Fort McMurray on 21-23 September 2021.
The PCG’s Grand Prairie team processed 552 passport applications and 82 notarial applications. Seventeen applicants also took their oath as Philippine citizens under RA9225.
On the other hand, in Fort McMurray, the PCG was able to serve 595 passport applicants and 106 notarial applicants while also administering the oath of Philippine citizenship of 36 applicants.
“We are glad to have processed 1,147 passport applications and 188 notarial applications in Grand Prairie and Fort McMurray on top of the 53 applicants who took their oath of Philippine citizenship,” Consul General Patron said after the two outreach missions.
“There are more than 1,000 Filipinos from these two cities who do not need to come to Calgary anymore to apply for consular services as we were able to bring our services to them,” he added.
Since June 2021, the PCG has already conducted six consular outreach missions in Edmonton (twice in June), Regina, Saskatoon, Grand Prairie and Fort McMurray. These consular outreach missions have so far benefitted more than 3,500 Filipino citizens.
