Calgary, 9 December 2022 - Culinaire magazine_,_ Alberta’s largest food and beverage magazine in terms of geographical coverage, is featuring Filipino cuisine in its November 2022 issue.
In the magazine’s main article, entitled “Exploring Philippine Cuisine,” Philippine Consul General to Calgary Zaldy Patron talked about the facets of Filipino cuisine.
Chefs and owners of five Filipino restaurants in Calgary and Edmonton also shared the influences for their Filipino cuisine, with each one of them sharing a recipe for one (1) Filipino dish.
The magazine’s cover has a picture of Lutung Salè Manuk (Lemongrass Chicken Soup).
The five restaurants featured are some of the participants in the inaugural Filipino Restaurant Month Canada (FRMC) that the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, the Philippine Consulates General in Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto, and the Philippine Department of Tourism jointly implemented last April 2022. The Philippine Consulate General in Calgary conceptualized and spearheaded the FRMC.

Along with Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek, Ms. Gerson was also one of the guests of Consul General Patron during a lunch reception he hosted at Pacific Hut Restaurant in Calgary on the first day of FRMC on 1 April 2022.
