successfully launched the Winter Escapade 8 on 24 August 2023 at the PCG’s Dr. Jose Rizal Hall.

 

Slated on 18 to 27 February 2024, this ten-day tour is an exciting journey to Manila, Iloilo, Cebu, and Bohol that will bring participants to various tourism destinations, cultural heritage sites, and beautiful landscapes in the Philippines. The participants will also get to enjoy the delectable Filipino cuisines.

 

Since its first inception, the Winter Escapade has been a well-attended tourism promotion program of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, the Philippine Consulates General in Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver, and the Department of Tourism.

 

Ms. Dolly Castillo and Mr. Ronald Waters, former Winter Escapade participants, also shared lighthearted testimonials about their enjoyable experiences in joining the annual tour to the Philippines.

 

The PCG’s guests at the launch event were treated to some dishes from Iloilo, Philippines, prepared by Filipino Chopstix Restaurant.  

 

Served were batchoy, arroz valenciana, puto, dinuguan, chicken and pork barbecue, and halo-halo.

 

The guests also had a taste of Don Papa Rum, a liquor made in Negros Occidental, Philippines.

 

Winter Escapade 8 aims to bring to the Philippines, on a first come, first served basis, about 300 participants from Canada.
