19 June 2017 – Philippine Ambassador to Canada Petronila P. Garcia and Consul General Julius D. Torres attended the Gala Nigh hosted by the Council of Edmonton Filipino Associations (CEFA) at the Italian Cultural Centre in Edmonton to commemorate the 119th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.

At the Gala event, Mrs. Esmeralda Agbulos, who will retire from her position as the Philippine Honorary Consul General in Edmonton in January 2018, was also honored for her services to the community.
