Calgary, 10 January 2024 – Consul General Zaldy Patron recently visited the first reading rehearsal of “Kisapmata,” a stage play to be shown on 30 January-18 February 2024 at the Lunch Box Theatre of the Calgary Tower Centre.
During his visit on 8 January 2024, he met the cast, creative team, and production staff of “Kisapmata.”

“Kisapmata” is a Tagalog word meaning “blink of an eye” and it is also the title of a song by Filipino band Rivermaya.
Inspired by this song, this new Canadian play tells the love story of two Filipino women - one living in the diaspora and the other, born and raised in the Philippines.
“Kisapmata” is written by Bianca Miranda and directed by Gina Puntil. Playing the lead roles are Michelle Diaz and Isabella Pedersen.
“Kisapmata” is the first Filipino-themed stage play to be shown at Lunch Box Theatre, which also co-produced it with Chromatic Theatre.
“I am proud to meet the Filipino Canadian talents behind Kisapmata. This stage play will be another platform to highlight the Filipino artists as well as understand certain aspects of the Filipino diaspora,” said Consul General Patron.
