8 November, Calgary – Despite the snow and cold weather, a team from the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary, led by Consul General Gilberto Asuque, conducted a consular outreach in Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada.

 

About 300 Filipinos in Grand Prairie and nearby areas applied for various consular services offered by PCG Calgary, including passport applications, notarial services, civil registrations, NBI applications, and dual citizen applications.

 

Grand Prairie is a city in Northwest Alberta that has a total population of about 69,000. An estimated 3,500 Filipinos live and work in the city.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The CarCanMadCarLan Association of Grand Prairie helped PCG Calgary in promoting the consular outreach. Upon the association’s invitation, Consul General Asuque and Deputy Consul General Zaldy Patron met the Filipinos attending the concert of Filipino band Aegis on 2 November in Grand Prairie.  Consul General Asuque invited the crowd to come to the consular outreach and explained to them the new practice of the Consulate General for processing passport application via appointment.
