Patron met on 13 November 2019 with Ms. Eva Szasz-Redmon, Director of Programs,
Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA), and other officials of CIWA to
formalize the Philippine Consulate General’s partnership with CIWA in serving
Filipino members of the Canadian society in Calgary, Alberta.
Established in
1982, CIWA is a gender-specific, culturally-diverse settlement agency and
non-profit organization that “recognizes, responds to, and focuses on the
unique concerns and needs of immigrant and refugee women, girls and their
families.” Its mission is to engage and
integrate all immigrant women and their families into the Canadian
society.
The Philippine Consulate General in Calgary and CIWA look forward to serving the more than 75,000 Filipinos in Calgary through programs and activities that aim to help Filipino immigrants integrate well in Canada and to help them to become more productive members of Canadian society.
