Calgary, 24 April 2024 – As a show of support for the ongoing 3rd Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada (FRMC) this April 2024, Consul General Zaldy Patron and Mayor Jyoti Gondek of the City of Calgary dined at Amihan Grill + Bakeshop in Downtown Calgary on 18 April 2024.
Amihan Grill + Bakeshop is one of the nine FRMC participating restaurants in Calgary and among the 44 Filipino-owned restaurants in 21 cities and eight provinces joining the 3rd FRMC.
Together with Consul General Patron and Mayor Gondek at dinner at Amihan Grill + Bakeshop were Deputy Consul General Victorio Mario Dimagiba, Jr., and some members of the Philippine Cultural Center Foundation and the Knights of Rizal.

“I wish to thank Mayor Gondek for showing her support for the 3rd FRMC and the Filipino-owned businesses in Calgary,” said Consul General Patron.
Consul General Patron recalled that Mayor Gondek also dined with him in April 2022 at the Pacific Hut Restaurant for the inaugural FRMC.
Lucky diners at the 44 FRMC participating restaurants who will order FRMC prix fixe menus will have a chance to win any of the more than 250 national and local prizes.
The 42 national prizes include four (4) domestic round-trip tickets in the Philippines courtesy of the Philippine Airlines and two (2) land travel packages from Rajah Tours Philippines.
A total of nine (9) hotels in the Philippines, owned by Megaworld International, Vista Land, Discovery Hospitality, and Chroma Hospitality, are giving away certificates for 3D/2N hotel accommodations (except for one offering 2D/1N accommodation) in their respective properties.
Three (3) travel agencies based in Alberta, Canada, namely FlyFriendly Travel & Tours of Edmonton, Alexis International Travel of Red Deer, and Love Canada Travel and Tours of Calgary, will give travel vouchers worth CAD500 each.
Seafood City of Calgary and Smiles Mobile Remittance of Red Deer, on the other hand, are offering a total of 20 gift cards amounting to CAD100 each.
In addition, the 44 participating restaurants will raffle almost 200 dining vouchers as local prizes. LBC Calgary will give 20 gift certificates for the shipment of balikbayan boxes and couriers for raffle winners from Alberta.
This year’s FRMC coincides with the celebration of the Filipino Food Month in the Philippines and the 75th Anniversary of the Philippines-Canada Diplomatic Relations.
