7 September 2021, Calgary – After conducting a passport outreach in Regina, Saskatchewan, two weeks earlier, the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary held another passport outreach in the City of Saskatoon on 31 August - 2 September 2021.
The three-day outreach in Saskatoon enabled the PCG to process a total of 648 passport applications. Thirteen (13) applicants also took their oath as Filipino citizens under Republic Act 9225 (Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Act of 2003.)
“The PCG has been working hard to provide passport services to as many Filipinos as possible after the COVID-19 pandemic drastically impacted our ability to reach out to our communities. With the lifting of public health restrictions in Saskatchewan, we immediately conducted two passport outreach missions in Regina and Saskatoon, and we were able to process a total of 1,346 passport applications in six days in a span of two weeks,” Consul General Zaldy Patron remarked.
As of this time, the PCG has already conducted four (4) passport outreach missions; one in Edmonton, Alberta, and one each in Regina and Saskatoon in Saskatchewan.
