2 November - The Philippine Men's Curling Team men’s team won the 2024 Pan
Continental Curling Championships (PCCC) B-Division held in LaCombe, Alberta from
27 October to 2 November 2024 by defeating Kazakhstan 9-3. The win was even more
impressive as they advanced to the finals with a perfect 10-0 win-loss card in the
elimination round, and beating Hong Kong 6-1 in the semifinals. The team’s win is
historic as they will advance to the elite A Division in next year’s Championships.
Philippine Consul General in Calgary Emma R. Sarne, together with Deputy Consul
General Victorio M. Dimagiba Jr. and a contingent from the Consulate, attended the
final round-robin games on 31 October 2024 to cheer and lend support. Having won in
the B Division, the PH Men’s Curling Team automatically qualifies for the A Division in
the 2025 Championships where they will face Curling powerhouses Canada, the United
States, and Japan. The team is made up of Filipino-Swiss and American curlers based
in Switzerland. Mr. Benjo Delarmente, President of Curling Pilipinas, the National Sports
