Calgary – Officials of the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary and
the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) recently
met to establish a working
arrangement to help assist Filipino nationals affected by natural
calamities and other emergency situations in Calgary.
Consul General
Gilberto Asuque and Deputy Consul General Zaldy Patron met with CEMA Chief Tom Sampson
and Deputy Chief Susan Henry on 22 June 2018 and discussed
with them the PCG’s
mandate to assist the Filipino nationals in times of natural calamity and
emergency situation in coordination with local government officials. Consul General Asuque informed the CEMA
officials of the estimated 75,000
Filipinos and Filipino-Canadians residing in Calgary whom the PCG will assist
in times of a general emergency.
