The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in
Calgary has connected the Philippine Department of Science of Technology (DOST)
and the University of Alberta with the recent
signing of the Collaborative Agreement on
Graduate Scholarship Program Between the Department of Science and Technology –
Science and Education Institute (DOST-SEI) and the University of Alberta
(UAlberta). UAlberta is a one of the Top 5 universities in Canada and among the Top
100 universities in the world.
The co-funding agreement, signed by DOST-SEI Director Dr. Josette Biyo and UAlberta’s Provost and Vice-President (Academic) Dr. Steven Dew, will allow DOST-SEI scholars in thesis-based doctoral and master’s programs to study and conduct research at UAlberta. The DOST-SEI is targeting to send as many scholars to UAlberta in order to develop a core of scientists who can support the Philippines’ S&T and industrialization programs. On the part of UAlberta, the agreement will further enhance its internationalization program.
The PCG in Calgary
opened the door for the DOST-SEI and UAlberta’s partnership.
