PCG CALGARY HANDS OUT OWWA LABOR DAY CARE KITS

28 May 2021, Calgary – Thirty (30) passport applicants who came to the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary this month were also recipients of OWWA Labor Day Care Kits.

 

Each care kit contains a bottle of Vitamin C (120 capsules) and a box of 50 face masks.

 

The care kits came from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Office in Vancouver, which requested the PCG to distribute them to overseas Filipino workers as part of its Labor Day celebration on 1 May 2021.

 

OWWA Vancouver also oversees Alberta and Saskatchewan, which are under the PCG’s consular jurisdictions.

 

Due to the limited number of care kits, the PCG only gave them to passport applicants who are working visa holders.

“These care kits were given to some Filipino workers here in Alberta and Saskatchewan to also recognize their contributions to the Philippine economy through their remittances to their families back home,” Consul General Zaldy Patron remarked.
