Dubbed as the "Flavours of the Philippines"
In-Store Promotion, the event was held at the T&T Supermarket
in Northeast Calgary. It
showcased and sold at discounted prices the various
food products of the Philippines, such as
rice, snack
food, juice and
beverages, biscuits, canned goods, and condiments. Part of the event was cooking
demonstration and food tasting featuring Mama Sita's
products.

Consul General Gilberto Asuque thanked everyone who supported the event and called on the 175,000-strong Filipino community in Alberta
to continue to patronize
and promote Philippine products sold in Canada. "As the Filipino community grows in this part of Canada,
they will play a big role in mainstreaming
Filipino cuisine and food
products into the Canadian market. The 'Flavours of the Philippines' was a good start
for this campaign."
