6 September 2016 – Consul General Julius D. Torres of the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that he led a consular team in undertaking a consular outreach mission in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on 27-28 August 2016, providing consular services to over 400 Filipino nationals there and surrounding areas.
During the two-day outreach period held at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Saskatoon, Consulate officers and staff were able to process 345 passport applications, 68 notarials and 11 citizenship reacquisition applications.
The consular outreach was organized by the Consulate and the Filipino-Canadian Association of Saskatoon (FILCAS) led by its President, Mr. Marte Nogot. Consul General Torres commended the officers and members of the association for their help in setting up the spacious venue and their assistance in the processing of applicants.
