24 October 2020, Calgary – The Philippine
Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary will launch a new passport Online
Appointment System (OAS) on 25 October 2020 for passport bookings from 23
November 2020 onwards.
The PCG’s new OAS can be found at www.passport.gov.ph. It is the same system that the
Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila uses in scheduling passport
appointments in the Philippines.
In the new OAS, applicants will have to encode
their complete information before confirming their booking. Applicants will
receive confirmation email with an auto-generated application form containing
their personal details and a barcode unique to each applicant.
Applicants are required to bring the printed
application form (with barcode) on the date and time of their appointment,
along with the supporting documents, such as old passport, birth certificate,
marriage certificate, certificates of retention/re-acquisition of Philippine
citizenship, work permit, and permanent residency card. The supporting
documents will depend on whether the applicant is an adult or a minor, and if
the applicant is renewing or applying for a passport for the first time. These
requirements are found at www.philcongencalgary.org.
The new OAS is free of charge and clients only
need to pay for passport renewal fee when they arrive at the PCG on their
appointment date.
“With the PCG’s new passport online appointment
system, we will be able to process passport applications quicker than before,
which we hope our passport applicants will find more convenient” Consul General
Zaldy Patron said about the PCG’s new OAS.
Passport bookings for 20 November 2020 and earlier can still be made using the PCG’s existing Appointment Plus OAS which can be accessed from this link https://booknow.appointment-plus.com/ykdcgsge/. This site will close on 21 November 2020.
