Consul General Zaldy Patron hosted a luncheon for the world-renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers, popularly known as Madz, when it visited the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary on 22 April 2024.
The choir, led by choirmaster Mark Anthony Carpio, is in Calgary for a concert on 24 April 2024, part of its three-month tour of Canada during the year the 75th Anniversary of the Philippines-Canada Diplomatic Relations is being celebrated.
Before coming to Calgary, the Madz had successful performances in Vancouver and Edmonton. After Calgary, the choir will travel to Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario to continue its series of concerts.
“We are thankful to Madz for bringing its unique brand of music and for showing the Filipinos’ world-class talents to Alberta and Saskatchewan and to the other parts of Canada,” said Consul General Zaldy B. Patron.
